Bridging, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization primarily serving the greater Twin Cities, empowers people to thrive in their homes by providing quality furniture and household goods for those pursuing housing stability. Since 1987, Bridging has served more than more than 120,000 households and currently operates out of three locations – Bloomington, Plymouth, and Roseville. Driven by nearly 4,000 volunteers each year and donations from the community, we provide the basic home essentials set up to more than 5,300 homes every year. On average, Bridging redistributes 15 semi-loads of donated furniture and household goods to more than 120 households (300 people) each week. POSITION SUMMARY

The COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR assists the Strategic Partnerships team with the

organization and execution of Bridging’s key community building and engagement activities; including but not limited to, leading group volunteer activities, organizing and hosting dresser builds, coordinating essential drives, representing Bridging at various fairs, speaking opportunities and supporting the Director of Strategic Partnerships. This position will engage deeply in the community with the goal of cultivating our brand awareness, increasing market share, building strategic relationships, and influencing volunteer engagement and donations (financial and product).

This position has no direct staff supervisory responsibilities, but engages thousands of volunteers annually, both onsite and offsite, and works closely with the Bridging team to ensure consistent community relations standards/talking points, and strategic growth of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience preferred in customer
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience preferred (paid staff and/or volunteers).
  • An activator and networker with the proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a results-driven, up-tempo environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with established competency in writing, public speaking and interpersonal communication.
  • Comfortable presenting via video conferencing (i.e. Zoom/Teams) and in-person, ~10 people up to 100+.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with a diverse
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, including annual Bridging special
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented and the ability to meet

PRIMARY DUTIES (Including but not limited to)

  • Identify, cultivate, and network with corporate, community, and individual prospects to advance the mission of Bridging.
  • Ensure consistency of organizational brand, program offerings, and volunteer activities across
  • Promote, manage, track, and analyze the Bloomington “group/team volunteering in a warehouse” program. More than 3,000 volunteers a year.
  • Regularly participate and represent the organization in community-based meetings, committees or civic clubs that wish to support the mission and goals of Bridging.
  • Provide organizational tours to new
  • Co-manage planning and hosting all dresser build projects (onsite and offsite) with the Roseville Community Engagement Coordinator.
  • Promote, coordinate, and track all data/KPIs regarding Bridging Essential Drives, dresser builds, and group statistics.
  • Assist the Director of Strategic Partnerships in managing and growing the Bridging Ambassadors
  • Assist the Director of Strategic Partnerships with new initiatives and in-kind procurement
  • Assist the Director of Strategic Partnerships in planning, promoting, and staffing annual events; Bring a Blanket event, Pride booth, and Founder’s Week.
  • Assist the Marketing team in creating social media posts, gathering content for the Strategic Partnership newsletters, blog posts, and promotion of Community Partnerships.
  • Assist the Director of Strategic Partnerships in managing the annual relationship map and cultivation of new Bridging supporters.

SALARY AND COMPENSATION

Hiring range is $50,000 - $55,000. LOCATION

This position is based at our Bloomington location: 201 West 87th Street, Bloomington, MN 55420. However, occasional travel will need to occur to spend time in our Plymouth and Roseville location, as well as throughout the Twin Cities.
