USA Toy Library Association

Executive Director

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for USA Toy Library Association (USATLA)  programs, expansion, and execution of its mission. 

Responsibilities

Leadership & Management:

  • Execute and conduct annual reviews of the strategic plan.
  • Ensure all policies and programs align with the USATLA mission.
  • Actively engage with USATLA board members, partner organizations, and funders to build strong relationships.
  • Assist in developing, supporting, and maintaining a robust Board of Directors. 
  • Comply with IRS and state regulations governing nonprofit organizations.
  • Manage website content and membership data, updating as necessary.

Fundraising & Communications:

  • Create and execute fundraising strategies, including grant writing and the Valentine Appeal.
  • Develop and manage the organization’s annual budget.
  • Work with the president to organize and set the agenda for the December annual meeting. Work with the President of the Board on creating the meeting agendas.
  • Plan and prepare “Quality Conversation” meetings with members.
  • Leverage social media, newsletters, and partnerships to promote the USATLA mission and activities.

Planning & New Business:

  • Build partnerships and establish relationships with organizations that support the USATLA mission.



 

Qualifications

The ED will be thoroughly committed to the USATLA  mission. All candidates should have proven leadership and relationship management experience.

Specific requirements include:

  • Track record of effectively leading an organization and staff 
  • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to set and achieve strategic objectives and manage a budget
  • Past success working with a Board of Directors with the ability to cultivate existing board member relationships
  • Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
  • Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed
