DEPARTMENT: Administration

PURPOSE:

The Design Coordinator is Eastside Food Co-op's visual storyteller. They deliver high-impact in-store signage, graphics, displays, and create our suite of printed and published materials that drive value and connect shoppers more deeply to their food and the people who grow it. They see opportunities where others see problems and can distill down a whiteboard of ideas into an elegant solution. The Design Coordinator is detail-orientated, creative and self-motivated. They approach their work through the lens of continuously improving the customer experience and growing the Eastside brand.

 

ALL CO-OP STAFF WILL:

  • Use all available tools and resources to provide excellent and knowledgeable customer service to all customers, coworkers, and vendors

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The workload of this position on any given day will be split between long-term and near-term projects. Balancing timely project execution with thoughtful, strategic work requiring careful prioritization.

Design + Production:

  • Creating marketing support materials including flyers, brochures, recipe cards, social media graphics, point of sale posters, ads, billboards, banners, signage, and other associated collateral.
  • Design and layout of co-op publications including quarterly newsletter, annual report, election materials, etc.
  • Interior display design
  • Producing branded packaging and goods including apparel, bags, deli containers, gift cards, etc.

Project Coordination:

  • Fulfilling signage requests with accuracy and timeliness
  • Coordinating production and delivery of materials as needed; engaging with appropriate vendors to solve problems and determine the best means of production for all graphic materials, with responsibility for timeliness and completeness of delivery.
  • Works closely and collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Assist with production of photo and video shoots as needed for creation of owned assets
  • Other duties as assigned




Teamwork & Relationships

  • Eastside's Marketing Design Coordinator will report directly to the Eastside Marketing Manager and will reside within the Marketing Department.
  • Working closely with the Marketing team and other stakeholders this person will be a strong brand advocate and will be an instrumental person in solving business challenges rooted in the visual world.
  • Understanding that Eastside serves a diverse community with many different voices is paramount to the inclusive and diverse nature of successful design.
