Furniture repair/reuse demonstrator
No coffee table left behind: Help inspire furniture reuse!
The City of West St. Paul is looking for a furniture refurbisher to host a demonstration booth at the Explore West St. Paul Days WestFest event on June 8th.
About the event: Saturday, June 8th, noon-3 pm, Harmon Park (230 Bernard St. W., West St. Paul). WestFest is a celebration of art, our environment, and the culture that makes us uniquely West St. Paul! The furniture reuse booth will showcase a demonstrator fixing or refurbishing a piece of furniture during the event, while describing the process to attendees and offering inspiration for reuse projects. Other finished pieces or photos of finished projects are also encouraged to show additional examples of furniture reuse and repair.
About the demonstrator: This person should be able to interact with attendees, answer questions, discuss projects ideas, and offer tips & tricks. They are welcome to promote their reuse/repair services at the event, but we ask that no transactions take place onsite and that the emphasis be on teaching and inspiring reuse amongst attendees.
Other information: The event is outdoors, without electricity, but a generator can be arranged if needed. A $400 stipend is available with this opportunity.
